This list is in a pretty haphazard order, but I figured might as well post my #1 album of the year now that I'm all caught up. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what made me stand up and give notice when so many similar records were released in '05, this band just seems to do the whole indie rock music thing better than everyone else. They're like a Wu Tang Clan raised on Radiohead and Brian Wilson, Canadian superheroes that once combined can do anything the genre embraces and then some. It's painstakingly produced with an attention to detail, continually rewarding, supremely confident without a wasted note to be found. Enjoy the selections, pick up a copy if you haven't yet and enjoy the festivus celebrations!
