17 Lewis Taylor - Stoned

London soul genius and multi-instrumentalist Lewis Taylor is building an impressive catalog while flying deep under the radar of most music folk, especially here in the states. 2005 finally saw an official U.S. release of a Lewis Taylor album, albeit a mashup of 3 previously released records (Stoned Pts. I&II as well as a last year's Limited Edition LP). While the actual tracks may not be new, Stoned is an excellent introduction to an artist that seems destined for obscurity. It's Shuggie Otis all over again, I tell you.
